Advanced Leadership Program

Four Months. Twenty-Five Leaders. Deeper Impact.

The IGEL Advanced Program takes environmental leaders beyond the foundation of the core program, offering a deeper, more immersive exploration of how environmental policies and decisions shape communities and industries across Georgia.

Designed exclusively for IGEL alumni, this experience builds on the strength of an already established network- bringing together highly engaged leaders to expand their impact, challenge perspectives, and navigate complex, real-world issues.

Through Georgia-focused case studies, participants will strengthen skills in stakeholder engagement, conflict management, and consensus-building. The program emphasizes practical application, equipping leaders to analyze environmental conflict, engage diverse stakeholders, navigate high-emotion situations, and build coalitions that drive durable action.

Participants will strengthen their connections within the IGEL network while gaining the tools and perspective needed to lead systems-level change across the state.

IGEL’s Advanced Program Goals are:

Equip IGELians with the perspective, tools, and confidence to lead through increasingly complex, interconnected environmental issues.

Foster deeper relationships and trust among IGELians to enhance collaboration across industries, communities, and viewpoints.

Advance participants’ ability to influence decisions, shape outcomes, and drive meaningful progress on critical environmental challenges statewide.

Diverse Leaders With a Common Goal

IGEL’s Advanced Program brings together a dynamic and diverse group of leaders, each offering distinct perspectives shaped by their sector and experience. While their paths may differ, participants share a common goal: to step back from day-to-day demands, reconnect with purpose, and reenergize their commitment to solving Georgia’s most pressing environmental challenges. They are proven leaders who have demonstrated influence within their organizations or communities, are deeply committed to engaging in thoughtful, solutions-oriented work alongside peers who challenge and expand their thinking.

The Advanced Program is designed for established, mid- to late-career professionals. Over the course of four months, participants are expected to fully engage in all program sessions, bringing their perspectives, leaning into collaboration, and making space to reflect, and grow. This shared commitment creates an environment where meaningful connections are built, ideas are sharpened, and leaders leave renewed in both energy and purpose.

IGELians have backgrounds in industries ranging from higher education to Fortune 500 companies and everything in between.
